Here is all the info we had sent out to students and to you to be fully prepared for our trip. We are headed out in a little under two weeks. Check back here for all the info.
Pray: Seriously you should be praying everyday for your trip. Pray for God to change your heart, pray for the kids you will be loving on, pray for safe travel, pray for God’s eyes and heart.
Prepare you mind: Part of this is praying, part is preparing yourself to be flexible by not making preconceived ideas and expectations about how things will happen, or what you will be doing. (Especially if you are the type of person that does not do well with change).
Prepare your heart: Know that you will not come back home the same, your experience will forever change your heart, and the way you see things. Prepare for this, pray for this. Know that when you come back people and things will make you more upset… because your heart has changed… God is going to use this heart change in ways you don’t yet understand but trust he will reveal that to you in his timing. Pray for a servant’s heart. Know your responsibilities… pg 9 in handbook.
Prepare your body: We want you to be a healthy team member, please take care of yourself as we get closer to traveling stay away from sick people, we do not want a repeat of Hume Lake. Be sure you are up to date on your tetanus and hepatitis A shots.
Prepare your story: Write out and be prepared to share your testimony see pg 19-21 in handbook
Prepare you bags and belongings:
See pgs. 27-39 in handbook for detailed packing list and instructions
