Romania Updates

On July 28th we are headed to Romania. We will be posting updates, pictures and videos here on the blog.

Thursday 7/30

Today was an amazing day!! Had a great time with the staff here at Heart 2 Heart. I am amazed at their absolute relentless care and compassion for these orphans and the constant stream of short term teams that come through. They truly are humble servants making a big difference in the lives of these orphans in Romania. Spent the afternoon at the Orphanage, it was like nothing you could expect. Old eastern european building made of brick, bars over the windows, no AC, very run  down, and tons of kids with lots of energy. Lots of children 4 to 18 years old with barley any clothes, no personal belongings, just hanging off of every limb of your body. Our team is totally wiped out from playing soccer, basketball, racing 500 million times, and all the crazy games we just made up on the spot. The best picture of what God has called us to this next couple of weeks is to simply give as much love and affection to these children, they soak it up. There are so many harsh realties that just hit you in the face as soon as you walk into their world. It is a rough survival of the fittest environment where the little ones often learn the harsh realties that they have nothing and what little they do have will be taken. Possessions are merely temporary items to be sold, bartered and stolen. Their world is what we are choosing to walk in for the next few weeks. We will not be able to change their world, but we will bring a picture of a redeeming God that will always walk with them in the midst of their brokenness. Our time , Love and compassion can never be taken from them. I have never received such genuine love from anyone with so little to offer.  Be looking for our first set of testimonials they should be posted by tomorrow!

Thank you for taking the time to post here. I'm sure you're all very tired after a long trip and a full day. Post more photos when you can.

    GOD BLESS!
