We are just finishing up our first week here in Romania. I am overwhelmed by what God has allowed for me to see this afternoon. It always brings me to a kingdom perspective when I see different cultures worshiping God in their own way. It was an incredible site to see our students jumping up and down worshiping God next to their Romanian brothers and sisters many of them from the orphanages. "Is this what heaven will be like?" I feel so often we are limited to experiencing God in the boundaries we limit ourselves too. Today God broke down many of those walls, allowing for us to see a glimpse of a God that is working on a much bigger picture than we can fathom. After church we went down to the basement and took communion with those who had been baptized. This is a very big deal for believers in this church. With only %4 of Romania being Evangelical, this is the only church in Romania to be actively pursuing God and the younger generation in a way that breaks all ties from the orthodox trappings. Many of these members including the Pastor and His wife have been ostracized from families and friends for their passion to reach their country with the freeing gospel of Jesus. It was an honor and privileged to have fellowship with them as we took communion together. I am reminded that Jesus is the only unifying factor that can bring every culture to a place of peace and unity, "only by the body and blood of Christ." How often do we limit ourselves to only see God working in our personal lives? The more we strive to see a God that is bringing "His kingdom come here on earth as it is in heaven" can we begin to see the interweaving of God's miraculous works in the lives around us and join him in this work.
