It's Tuesday morning and I am amazed at how great our team has been doing so far. The last few nights have truly been a moving experience to see God's power redeeming post communist Romania. The one word that keeps coming to my mind as we love the orphans and people in Romania is "Starvation." It is apparent as soon as you meet many of the children that they are malnourished, given a slop type meal and a big piece of bread for a filler. But their is a greater starvation hiding beneath the surface of these children, a starvation of physical love and emotional attention. We do not have the ability to give them enough love, the more we love them the more they want, they are dying of malnourished heart. Never experiencing the touch of loving parents, the only way they know how to get more of our love is to be cruel and mean. Beyond this is a deep spiritual starvation plaguing this country. Communism has robbed a thriving culture of hope and life. Most Romanians are completely void of any picture of a God that loves and provides. So many people we have meet are desperate for a glimpse of a loving God that cares. The words of Jesus, "I am the bread of life" has brought new meaning to me the last few days. Jesus truly is the only thing that can satisfy the starvation pangs our soul, our longing for a satisfaction of true eternal life. It is hard not to be angry at the injustices we have seen in this country due to the false ideals and misuse of power under communism, yet God has called us to bring "His bread of life" that was stolen from these people by Satan and offer it to anyone who will eat. This is our call to action, to feed the hungry and dying of spiritual starvation by being a picture of a loving God that cares more than we could ever imagine.

The "call to action" is just what these Romanian children. We ALL need to be called to action!
